Mangrove "Puerto Hondo"
Puerto Hondo is a small community a couple of km away from Cerro Blanco continuing the road to the Coast. From the Ecological Club of puerto Hondo, you can rent a kayak to visit the mangrove forest. Puerto Hondo has also a locally well know pool, with aquatic attractions for kids and a traditional restaurant.
From Guayaquil take a bus to Chongon in the corner of 10th of August and Garcia Moreno streets in the center of the city. Alternatively, take the bus to Playas or Salinas from the Terrestrial Terminal. In both cases leave at the 18th Km in the road to the coast, at the entrance to Puerto Hondo before the Holcim cement factory. With a taxi expect to pay around 25 USD for a 20 min ride.
By car, take the road to the coast and the exit to Puerto Hondo on the 18th Km.
